Long long day. Only managed to take a couple of photos because the camera had got damp in the night. Last nights pub was next to the canal, and my route took me over a bridge this morning. After that I found the White Horse and tried to take its picture, but the camera had given up. You’ll have to make do with my drawing on the map instead. Today I’ve mostly given up on the North South direction, and turned West. The day seemed to be themed with headwinds and main roads. A hard day ended even harder, firstly because the nice side roads we found next to the A38 coming out of Exeter were actually long slip roads between the A38 and the A380. Worse, when I finally picked my way through them (by pushing mostly) and reached the racecourse, Cambo was lame. He had a puncture in his back wheel. It was slow, so I pumped it up and set off down the hill to Chudleigh. Pumped it up again and set off towards Bovey Tracey. Got to Chudleigh Knighton and pumped it up again. Finally arrived at Bovey Tracey. It was dark and I was tired. Someone I have never met came over and congratulated me on the effort, and was very interested and impressed with what I was doing. That made such a difference to the day.
