Cambo has never been to France.  Grawp has been and has told Cambo about it – about the warm sun, the Pastis.  Grawp has been to Carcassonne.  Land of Sun and Pastis and Wine.  Cambo is off to Normandy.  Land of Cider and Wind and Rain.  Of course, Grawp has … Read on →

Team Croissant, otherwise known as the Last of the Summer Wine boys, are off on tour. We’ve got our panniers, our racks, our tents, and some of us have our hot water bottles too. Formal introductions then. Team Croissant are Mike, James and Paul. The noble steeds upon whose backs … Read on →

When Cambo came to live at my expense, back in 2006/2007 it was immediately apparent how different he was to my previous bike. At this point he wasn’t called Cambo. He had no name. His handlebars were straight whereas the bike he replaced had drops. His gears were on the … Read on →

We were all set to go to Chepstow but the weather had other plans.  There would have been a strong headwind most of the way home.  Paul would have been OK with this but Cambo would have become quite tired, and so instead we went for a round trip up … Read on →

I like to know where I went, how quick I was and other completely useless stuff.  So I’m a bit of a magpie when it comes to apps for doing this. So – to keep track of all this I use RunKeeper.  This is a website that stores GPS tracks … Read on →

Well, looks like the last post was when the clocks went back.  They went forward again yesterday, so I’ve missed the whole of the winter.  Loads happened during the winter too – just wish I could remember what.  Certainly, I bought some new lights – review another time – and … Read on →

The clocks go back tonight.  Went out for an early morning constitutional with Mike and James, leaving at 7am in the dark.  Found the last missing bit of Route 33 through Long Ashton, then through the park, under the Cumberland Basin and along the river to Avonmouth.  Crossed the bridge … Read on →

Sustrans National Route 33, The Stop Line, includes the route from Nailsea to Bristol, through Ashton Court. Once you get to Backwell Bow from Nailsea, you can pick up a great section of cycle path that follows the railway line to Cambridge Batch. From there you need to take the … Read on →

Yup, that’s the Airport. Can we go home now?

Felt like an early evening climb up to the airport. Climbed up the steep way, and when we got within sight of the airport, we turned back and went home. Paul was ok, but Cambo was very tired. It’s much easier on the way home, and much quicker too.
